About the Artists

_ _ _ Verena Kathrein (VK) _ _ _

VK is an Austrian-born photographer based in Munich, Germany. In 2008 she completed her studies in photography at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. She works as a freelance photographer specializing in portrait and documentary photography. In 2016 she was a recipient of the Rome Scholarship of the Republic of Austria and initiated the artistic research project "Then I would like to make a happy end for once" in collaboration with the artist Ariane Müller. In 2018 the same-titled exhibition was shown at Kunstverein Nürnberg, accompanied by a publication. Since 2019 she has been a member of the Fotodoks curators' collective. Fotodoks is an international festival for contemporary documentary photography and takes place every two years in Munich.

_ _ _ Karin Schneider (KS) _ _ _

KS is a Brazil-born and New York-based artist and filmmaker. In 1997, Schneider co-founded Union Gaucha Productions (UGP) an artist-run, experimental film company designed to carry out interdisciplinary collaborations with practitioners from different fields. From 2005 to 2008, she was a founding member of Orchard, a cooperatively organized exhibition and social space in New York's Lower East Side. From 2010 to 2014, Schneider co-founded Cage, a space that facilitated new kinds of social interactions. Her current work, Situational Diagram, was the subject of a book and an exhibition at Dominique Lévy Gallery in 2016. In 2018 she started to develop with a group of people an art streaming platform for the creation of a sharing economy for artists and curators.
