ORTVI

ORTVI is an art streaming platform that offers a new model for sharing film, video, and time-based work. It offers viewers streaming access to a growing collection of film and video by artists. Unlike other platforms, ORTVI creates a collective economy that redirects profits to participating artists and curators. It offers an alternative to commercial distribution that supports artists and curators in the long term.

VIEWERS and SUBSCRIBERS

As a viewer, you can stream works, screenings, and exhibitions on ORTVI. Artists choose whether their work is available for free, for a streaming fee of their choice, or to ORTVI subscribers. You can find more information about monthly subscriptions here. Your subscription directly supports the artists and curators sharing their work on ORTVI.

ARTISTS

It's free to join ORTVI as an artist. Once you join, you can create a profile, upload work, create screenings and exhibitions, invite other artists to join, and receive monthly payments through your ORTVI wallet. We encourage you to upload at least three videos accompanied by a description and other relevant information. This will help viewers find your work.

ORTVI distinguishes streaming from sale. It encourages artists to maintain streaming rights of their work even after the work has been sold on the commercial market, and allows them to generate income from streaming. This difference is crucial for sustaining artists in the contemporary art economy.

You should only upload works if you are the sole creator or have the right to distribute them, and if they're not governed by streaming or ownership contracts with third parties such as institutions, collections, or galleries. If there is a third party relationship, they should agree to have your work at ORTVI and agree with ORTVI streaming rights. You can find more information in our Guidelines and Terms of Use.

CURATORS

It's free to join ORTVI as a curator. Once you join, you can create a profile, upload work, create screenings and exhibitions, invite artists to join, and receive monthly payments through your ORTVI wallet. You can also invite artists to join the site. They will join our collective economy that redirects profits to participating artists and curators. You should only upload works if you have the right to distribute them. You can find more information in our Guidelines and Terms of Use.

GALLERIES AND INSTITUTIONS

Institutions and galleries can create ORTVI accounts to invite artists to create profiles and to host screenings and exhibitions whose profits are directed to artists and ORTVI participants. In this way, they can support a collective economy that supports artists and curators in the long-term.
